Reggae, Ska, Rock Bands Take Over Milaca, MN on August 12th, 2023 - A Celebration of Original Music

Milaca, MN - The sounds of Reggae, Ska, and Rock music will be filling the air in Milaca, MN, as the city prepares for the Inaugural Reggae, Ska and Rock Music Festival. This event promises to be a celebration of original music from some of the Midwest's most talented bands.

August 12th, the main event will take place at the Rec Park Bandshell in Milaca, MN, featuring a lineup of incredible bands that are sure to get the crowd moving and grooving. The scheduled performers include Dred I Dread (Reggae, Ska), Space Monkey Mafia (Ska), Rootz Within (Reggae), Push & Turn (Reggae), Skalectric Company (Ska), Lars Nelson Band (Rock), and DJ Baile.

In addition to the fantastic music, the festival offers access to over 14 miles of hiking and biking trails and scenic woodlands, allowing festival-goers to fully immerse themselves in the music and nature.

Dred I Dread
Dred I Dread is a Minneapolis-based reggae band that fuses their music with diverse heritages from Jamaica, New Orleans, Minnesota, and Turkiye. Since forming in 1998, they've earned multiple "Best Reggae Band" awards. Their studio collaborations with Reggae legends Earl Chinna Smith, Dean Fraser, Flabba Holt, and Tony Asher are impressive. However, what sets Dred I Dread apart is their unwavering commitment to positive and uplifting messages of love, unity, and social justice. It's no wonder they've earned the title of Minneapolis Reggae Legends!

• Online ticket sales is closed - please pickup your tickets at the gate.
  Cash, cards are accepted.
• Children under the age of 12 years and under are free. Brings the kids as it’s a park. 
• Bring your swimsuit as the Splash Pad is open.
• Basketball hoops, skatepark, exercise equipment on site.
• Understand this is small, intimate Event.
• Know that it’s the inaugural Reggae, Ska & Rock Event - and you are an important part of its success.
• Bring your own chair and or blanket.
• Get to the Event early and save a good spot - Gates Open 9:00 AM, Show starts 12:30 PM
• Check out all the vendors
• Personal coolers allowed for water (due to extreme heat), however we encourage you to give business to our vendors.
• Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash.
• Camping available at other parks in and around Milaca.
• Get a 10% discount at The Mellow Fellow located in downtown Milaca with your wristband.
• Have great time!

Don’t:

• Don’t’ worry about re-entry, as long as you have your wristband you can come and go as you please
• Don’t’ bring your cat – likely there will be too many dogs 
• Don’t’ bring weapons of any kind or fireworks to the festival grounds
• Don’t’ be violent, obscene, or unruly. Let’ s have a safe and fun event for all ages.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS BY PURCHASING A TICKET TO Reggae, Ska Rock Festival (herein after referred to as “The Releasees”), I, (HEREIN AFTER REFERRED TO AS “THE PARTICIPANT”) UNDERSTAND THAT I AM WAIVING CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival is a music festival held August 11 & 12, 2023 held at Rec Park Bandshell in Milaca, MN and is organized by it's members, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and independent contractors. In consideration of the Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival Organizers permitting the Participant’s attendance at Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival, the Participant waives any and all claims that the Participant has or may in the future have against, and release from all liability and agree not to sue, Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival Organizers and associated property ("Premises") owned by City of Milaca, as well as other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, or advertisers for any claims of personal injury, death, property damage or other loss that the Participant sustains during or as a result of Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival due to any cause whatsoever. The Participant is aware that participating/volunteering Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival has many inherent risks.

-I recognize and acknowledge that there are hazards and risks of physical injury or illness to Event attendees and that not all such hazards or risks can be fully eliminated. I freely and voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of death, bodily injury or property damage, regardless of severity, that I (or my child/ward) may sustain as a result of my attendance at the Event, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of the Releasees.

-I indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any loss, liability, damage or cost they may incur while I am at the Event or on the Premises, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of the Releasees.

-I release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the Releasees from all liability to me, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs and next of kin, for any claims, causes of action, obligations, lawsuits, charges, complaints, controversies, damages, costs or expenses of whatsoever kind, nature, or description, whether direct or indirect, in law or in equity, in contract or in tort, or otherwise, whether known or unknown, arising out of or connected with my (or my child’s/ward's) attendance at the Event or while on the Premises, whether or not caused by the negligence or gross negligence of the Releasees.

COVID NOTICE AND AGREEMENT:
I acknowledge the contagious nature of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and that the CDC and many other public health authorities still recommend practicing social distancing.

I further acknowledge that Festival (Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival) and its Affiliates (including but not limited to Festival organizers, Festival operators, Festival staff, Festival employees, and all other parties involved), have put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19.

I further acknowledge that the Festival and all other parties involved, cannot guarantee that I will not become infected with the Coronavirus/Covid-19. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by the Coronavirus/COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to other festival concert patrons.

I further acknowledge that, if I am a member of a group particularly vulnerable to Coronavirus/COVID- 19 (individuals with conditions identified by the CDC as higher risk or those over 65 years old), public health experts recommend that I continue to avoid any in-person gatherings and remain Healthy At Home.

I further acknowledge the inherent risk of exposure to Coronavirus/COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.

I voluntarily seek services provided by Festival and its Affiliates and acknowledge that I am increasing my risk of exposure to the Coronavirus/COVID-19. I acknowledge that I must comply with all set procedures to reduce the spread while attending the Festival. Repeated failure to follow procedures will result in expulsion from Festival grounds.

I attest that:
- I am not experiencing any symptoms of illness such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
- I have not traveled internationally within the last 14 days.
- I have not traveled to a highly impacted area within the United States of America in the last 14 days.
- I do not believe I have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of the Coronavirus/COVID-19.
- I have not been diagnosed with Coronavirus/Covid-19 and not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities.
- I am following all CDC recommended guidelines as much as possible and limiting my exposure to the Coronavirus/COVID-19.

I hereby release and agree to Festival and its Affiliates harmless from, and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives any and all causes of action, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, compensation for damage or loss to myself and/or property, and all other liability that may be caused by any act, or failure to act of the Festival and its Affiliates, or that may otherwise arise in any way in connection with any services received from the Festival and its Affiliates. I understand that this release discharges Festival and its Affiliates from any liability or claim that I, my heirs, or any personal representatives may have against the Festival with respect to any bodily injury, illness, death, medical treatment, or property damage that may arise from, or in connection to, any services received from Reggae, Ska, Rock Festival Music Festival and its Affiliates.

I hereby irrevocably permit, authorize, grant, and license Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival and its affiliates, successors and assigns, and the employees, officers, directors, and agents of each and all of them (“Authorized Persons”), the rights to display, exhibit, transmit, broadcast, reproduce, record, photograph, digitize, modify, alter, edit, adapt, create derivative works, otherwise use, and permit others to use, my first name, image, likeness/appearance, voice, and all materials created by or on behalf of Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival that incorporate any of the foregoing (“Materials”) in perpetuity throughout the universe in any medium or format whatsoever now existing or hereafter created, including but not limited to, in and on magazines, brochures and other print publications, electronic, magnetic and optical media, motion pictures, television broadcast, cablecast and satellite, radio broadcasts, display, point-of-sale, and other advertising and promotional materials, press releases, the internet and other digital transmission or delivery methods, mobile applications, on any platform and for any purpose, including but not limited to advertising, public relations, publicity, packaging, and promotion of Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival and its affiliates and their businesses, products, and services, without further consent from or royalty, payment, or other compensation to me except as otherwise expressly provided in this Agreement. Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival shall be the exclusive owner of all right, title, and interest in and to the Materials, including all copyrights. I hereby irrevocably transfer, assign and otherwise convey to Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival my entire right, title and interest, if any, in and to the Materials and all copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the Materials arising in any jurisdiction throughout the universe in perpetuity, including all registration, renewal and reversion rights, and the right to sue to enforce such copyrights against infringers. I acknowledge and agree that I have no right to review or approve Materials before they are used by Reggae, Ska Rock Festival Music Festival.
